I know you are expecting this post to be a wedding post because it seems lately that is all I’ve been doing with my time… weddings! September has been really busy with every weekend booked! But this post is going to be a little different. I was really excited about yesterday and wanted to tell you all about it!
I haven’t been technically a “photographer” for long but even still I’m constantly changing and improving my business. That is one of the reasons why I decided to go to the WPPI Road Trip Workshop yesterday in Detroit. The workshop was full of new ideas and new products, which can be a little overwhelming at times! When I left the workshop I had a bag full of papers and a new look on my photography business. Yesterday was great though and I thought I would share a couple things I learned from the day.
5 Things I Took from Yesterday’s Workshop
1. Every Photographer has their own unique style
2. Less is More
3. New Ideas for Next Year surrounding Photo Art! Just Wait!
4. Get to know the other vendors the Bride is working with.
5. I love my job and I want to keep getting better!
Now I don’t even have a photo in this post. Please forgive me. But I do have lots of weddings coming soon!
From Me. With Love.
One day at church they announced that Josh and Eva were getting married. After church in the parking lot I happened to see Josh and Eva leaving too so I told Chad I should give them my business card. We raced over to catch them before they left. Eva told me she had seen some of my work and liked it! So after that we talked and emailed about the details of the wedding. Eva and Josh knew they wanted to get married the big question was when! After much debate over the date they got married on September 3rd, 2010 a beautiful sunny Friday afternoon. Everything was perfect and I was delighted to see Eva’s love for colour played out through out the wedding. Thanks for letting me be there to capture all your happy memories.
Check out the bottom for a little surprise too!
The video was done by Jordan Ouellette my brother-in-law. He did an awesome job and I can not wait to shoot more with him. He is also working on a promo video for me, I can’t wait to show everyone it! Check out more of his stuff here and soon to be more here! If you would be interested in having Jordan come to your wedding, email me for prices and details! He is also the mastermind behind my logo. Thanks Jordan!
I’m a bit of a worrier. My mother is a worrier and so is my grandmother, it comes to me naturally. But it’s nice to know our husbands help us out from time to time. I know with Chad if he gives me “the look” I realize my fears are irrational and I need to just relax because it’s going to be okay! Sarah and Chris have a similar look. As Sarah walked down the aisle something happened. Chris’ eyes glued to Sarah, and then Sarah’s eyes met Chris and everything changed. Her face changed from uneasiness to joy. It was like she knew that everything was going to be okay and that she was marrying the man of her dreams.
When Sarah asked me to shoot her wedding I was so excited. It was in Cornwall, Ontario which is 8 hours away from Sarnia. Definitely the farthest I have traveled so far to do a wedding. I was worried I would not know where to take photos or know how to get around town. But with the help of her family, everything worked out perfectly and the wedding was beautiful!
p.s. thanks mom for coming and being my assistant for the day!
